Did you know that we are a non-profit community cooperative? What that means is we are owned and our operations are directed by over 650 co-op members, and profits from our operations are directed back into the community through various programs.
Our purpose is to be a resource that nourishes the neighbourhoods in and around downtown Nanaimo by providing affordable bicycle-centric services and advocacy that build, empower and support healthy and sustainable communities, providing a safe and welcoming space for people to come to learn, share skills and network with other community members.
To further this goal, aside from being a bike shop, some of the community programs we support and are involved in are Operation Generation, Woodlands After School Bike Club, Free Maintenance Workshops at the shop and also at Vancouver Island University, Bike to Work Week, Active Transportation Week, Nanaimo Parks Rec & Culture Bike Education Programs, The Otesha Project and other local events and organizations.
Your donations of parts, bikes and time is greatly appreciated to help us to continue our operations.
